Large Corporations Expect to Pay Price on Carbon

An interesting article was published in the New York Times about the future expected price on carbon.

Almost 30 companies, including ExxonMobil, Walmart, and American Power are planning their future finances with a price on carbon factored in, suggesting that they expect a carbon tax or other price on carbon in the future.

While there’s currently no certainty what or if that added cost will be, the move by these companies is still significant, because they are essentially creating an internal incentive for themselves to reduce their carbon emissions, in addition to signaling that an industry shift away from heavy reliance on fossil fuels is not too far away.
